Ingrid Skop, MD
Obstetrician and Gynecologist
Dr. Skop has practiced obstetrics and gynecology in San Antonio for 19 years after receiving her M.D. from Washington University School of Medicine, and residency training from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. As an obstetrician, she is passionate about supporting unborn life, and as a gynecologist, she feels the best way to prevent undesired pregnancies is to provide women with medically accurate information and reliable contraception. She is thrilled to join the Healthy Futures board in their quest to provide this information to young women and men. She also serves on the board of Any Woman Can, a pregnancy resource center, is an original member of Impact San Antonio, a women’s philanthropic organization, volunteers weekly at San Antonio AIDS Foundation, and is active with the Parent Teacher Organization of Keystone School, which is attended by her three children. She is starting a non-profit organization that will provide long acting reversible contraceptives (such as IUDs and nexplanon) free of charge to women who cannot afford them. Her husband is a forensic psychiatrist who is equally passionate about increasing access to mental health care in San Antonio. In her spare time she likes to travel with her family, attend church at Coker UMC, and participate in triathlons and half marathons.
