BAE-B-SAFE Gears Up for Round Three!
Wrapping up year two with the Competitive PREP project, BAE-B-SAFE is gearing up this month to begin year three at the Alamo College campuses this Fall.
Year 2 closes with successful:
- Summer training for faculty in Cultural Proficiency, Sex Ed 101, Trauma Informed Approaches, and Gender and Sexual Diversity
- Summer outreach
- and a total of 457 18-19 year olds participating in evidence-based programs
In addition, BAE-B-SAFE was able to engage with more than 5,000 students across all campuses through campus events and presentations.
For the next few weeks, our BAE-B-SAFE team will be preparing to take their biggest strides in making their mark at San Antonio College, St. Philip’s College, and Palo Alto College. In addition to providing evidence-based programs about reproductive health information, BAE-B-SAFE’s goal is to become an even greater resource for referrals to healthcare providers in the communities surrounding the campuses.
The BAE-B-SAFE team can’t wait to roll out its line-up of fun-filled events and enriching programs for each campus and its students. In this last year of the grant, the project hopes to increase referrals and linkages to clinics, increase participation, and secure a plan to sustain all the great work that’s be done to learn about the attitudes, behaviors, and beliefs of college-aged youth in community colleges.
